The Raptor Pit: T.R.P. Portal

I don't even know how to act, or react, for that matter. Dream Theater is my favorite band, ever. Mike Portnoy is THE greatest drummer to ever sit behind a kit. I just saw them open for Iron Maiden a month ago...He announced today that he was leaving the band to pursue other interests - after 25 years. This is huge. I will follow him as a loyal fan, where ever he may go and who ever he may be playing with. The guy can't sit still so he will always be busy and have something going on - which is fine by me...I can watch/listen to him all day long.

I will still be a DT fan as well. I LOVE Dream Theater, and they will no doubt find a talented guy to fill the void that Mike leaves. Still, I am shocked and dumbfounded by this news. I find it hard to think of DT with another drummer...I just thought I would vent a little...I don't know if any of you guys are fans of DT, or if anyone here has even heard of them. There is a billion songs by them on YouTube - as well as a billion vids of Mike Portnoy (he is incredible to watch). If I start posting vids I will be here all day long and this thread will go on and on and on...

Instead I will just leave it here and go grab a beer, chill for a few, shower, get some dinner and then watch some football. Thanks for listening to this big baby whine for a few...Crap...
