Are you guys running Catalyst 13.12 or later (betas) on your Radeons? I switched recently to 13.12 and I noticed an increase in folding. My 7950 now folds 8900 WU at 4:16 per frame, from 4:23 with Cat 13.9 before, same clocks and all. PPD for this GPU is right around 93k now, up from 88k.

im using 13.12 for my 7970s and will be on the 280x when I fire it up. tried them on the 7770s with no noticeable improvement, although they fold horrible anyway so who knows what difference 13.12 made.

It looks like im taking about a 4k PPD hit by using 13.12. Just bumped up the memory clocks on the card. So hopefully that will help regain the lost points.
Dont know how high they will go. Chip is set at 1237Mhz which is as high as it will go folding, and memory is set
at 1700Mhz, but i havent adjusted the memory voltage, i dont know what the safe limit is on that.

Ah, so it's worst on 7970s? Definitely better on my 7950, much better at folding.

There's a beta coming before the end of the month, probably next week. Maybe it will be better for you.

Well, you know what. I was having stability problems in gaming so I cleaned the drivers yesterday and re-installed them (still 13.12) and now I have taken a hit. 4:27 TPF, from 4:23 on 13.9.

Don't know what to think of this. :idontknow:

something is not right with the 13.12 in my opinion. I have had nothing but trouble on all my gpus that fold. the 7770s will not fold at all with them. the 280x blue screens after about an hour and the 7970s are taking a big hit. cleaned all machines of the 13.12s and installed 13.9s instead. so far after 8 hrs all are folding well. now maybe I can really start cranking.

Dunno. My 7950 was folding fine except performance was not the best. But it was giving me trouble in games (all recent drivers) so I think it's defect. I just got a RMA number from XFX and it going on Monday. Will take some downtime from folding as a result. Hopefully they have a good turnaround time...

you guys might want to try the new 14.1 beta catalyst. worked wonders on my 7970 and my 280x. reduced my tpf by 20 seconds plus on both. going to try it on my 6970 next to see if helps it.

I installed it and its doing the same for me, actually dropped my tpf 23sec, and raised my ppd from 132k to 149k
according to fahclient.

Now after it finished the last wu, its now reporting 157k ppd. So that's a pretty good increase.

I just clocked it up a little more in the last few min, but with the ppd posted above, it is clocked
to 1237mhz/core and 1650mhz/memory. Temps hold around 46c with this card under full load.

I just bumped it to 1240/core and same on memory to see if it can maintain that with the new drivers.

set my 2 7970's at 1075 core and 1550 memory. 120k ppd from each

set the 280x at 1200 cord and 1600 memory. 145k ppd.

I think my 400k ppd estimate might be a tad low.

definite driver improvement.

Thinking about running the smp client as well and see what I can squeeze out of the system.

Might do that a little later, bumped the gpu core up to 1245. Seems to be running stable, might wait
a few more hours and bump it up another 5mhz and retest.

I just went through my logs and haven't received one of those yet. Hopefully it doesn't cause any problems.

What's the base credit on them?

base credit is 13000, est credit is sitting at 66865 on my 280x. 10 hrs+ to finish one though. im folding the 280x and a smp6 on this rig and its saying 161000 ppd which is up by 15000 ppd compared to what is was doing. guess this isn't so bad after all. need another 280x though. this card smokes my 7970's even though supposedely its a redone 7970.
