So all the TV tuner cards I have are for AGP or PCI so none of them worth with my PCIE computers.

so now I would like to buy a new tv tuner card in the new year and 2012 is coming fast.

must be good and innexpensive.

must be digital readdy for new antenna system that work on digital singnal.

must be able to record my tv programs

don't forget I don't have cable at my house I back to old style antenna and I get 21 channels free
from a 2feet antenna can't beat that.

so I would like to instal a tv tunner card in my server it has a onboard video card but I can instal a ATI 4890 in it if need be.

thanks for your help

my choice would be one of these :-

don't forget tho you don't need to use an internal card, there are plenty of external options available too (usb).

if the channels are over the air then a single cable from the digital aerial that receives the signal would work fine for receiving both analog and digital signals just use a splitter to connect to both tuners.

if you have a separate cable wire(and your cable company transmits free analog/digital channels) then that could be connected to one tuner while the cable from your aerial is connected to the other.

After looking at this post it got me interested and I am now thinking of getting one. My only question is I am assuming this only works on cable and not any other type of tv service like DirecTv?? Because this would be sweet if it work on other types of tv service.

Want to use a usb version to connect to my synology server which now has a tv recorder software

( WinTv 1250) I got it working perfect, the tv tuner card works perfect with WMC I use it like a great DVR I never miss my show's now.
and this brings in more channels then my TV does I live 1/2 way from Montreal Canada, Ottawa Canada, Burlington Vermont, Platsburg Newyork,
and I get a total or 52 channels 44 of witch are 100% always on. this is better then cable from a few years ago around here.

I have a USB tv tuner works great with WMC but horible with it's oem program.
I keep that one for my netbook now made into a laptop. works great at the doctors waiting,
people find my antenna funny. but they watch tv with me after LOL, and I have a few movies on laptop too.
