Thanks hokie. It's the same chip I've been testing just a different MB. This UD7 will let the chip boot at X58 with the BCLK underclocked, same MHz wall though. I've not spent a lot of time on SPi-32m with the Sandy Bridge but for whatever reason it didn't like XP full or stripped down? Funny thing is this is a very old very dirty Win 7 64-bit install but it just kills the XP SPi 32m times? Now SPi 1m is a very different story as XP wins every time hands down. If I can ever find what this chip wants I hope to run in the high 5 minute range in SPi 32m. I may try a fresh OS install next. So far my Asus M4E have scored better in most every bench test compared to this UD7?
Of course the testing isn't over so I'll see how it works out. I may be missing something?

I hear you about XP. I've been struggling with 32M on XP too, but have been told it's better. My best time is still under Win7, but I'll be working on it once my rig is back up & running (pump croaked).
With the multipliers available to you, put that thing on DICE or SS (I forget whether you have one). Hopefully it will unlock the MHz to go with the multi.

Edit: Oldtimer I been feeling the same about muti & SB that the motherboard could very well be the hold back for some SB chips.
I should have a different MB in a few days "Tuesday" we'll see. BTW nice chip!
The strange thing about it is even though I can boot X58 with the UD7 this chip will run 20MHz faster in the Asus M4E. The way it stacks up (so far) using the same 2600K the UD7 is bench stable (most 2D/3D bench tests) @5680-5694MHz while the M4E is bench stable @5710-5720MHz. It is still early in the UD7 testing though.
TheWolf the way I see it I've had four of these Sandy Bridge MB's 2 UD7's and two M4E's and even though one MB may do the clocks differently than the other, the Processor will have a MHz wall that so far I haven't found a way around. In other words so far what was max CPU speed in one MB was pretty much the same in the other +/- a few MHz. I found that getting it cold -45/-50C does help with max speed at least during my testing.

I did improve my time a little bit today. I did a fresh install of Windows 7 32-bit less drivers or windows updates but none the less a full version on Win 7. Oh yeah, I bench these under a SS.
6m 01.905s SPI 32m Sandy Bridge I didn't break into the 5's but I will soon I think.
