Hi all,

My name is Navig and I've been modding for the last decade. A lot of you folks will probably have known me from the ol' abit forums, where I was quite active in modding and overclocking. I've kind of fallen off the forum sites for a bit--altho still folding for the wolves--on account of being very busy with a cross country move and selling my hand built benching stations via the ocforums.

In any case, I specialize in scratch built mods composed of wood, plastic, and metal, although I have absolutely no formal training. I have a full time job that has nothing to do with computers, other than we use them. In any case, if you count my stations, I've probably built in excess of 40 scratch built mods. If you are asking, scratch built mods are cases built entirely from scratch (altho that's not entirely what I do as I often scavenge bracketry and odds and ends from pre-fab caes). I'm not just modifying pre-fab cases, cutting holes, or doing paint jobs. I'm buildin' cases from raw materials.

I have been posting for years, but unfortunately, the majority of my threads disappeared with the abit forums.

And so I plan to use this thread to start re-building all my old threads. I do have all the essential pics, so I should be able to recreate them. Then as I repost the threads, I will update this page.

Currently, I list the title of the project, any existing threads out there (I often posted at the ocforums, xtremesystems forums, and bit-tech forums). In parentheses, I include whether the linked thread is actually a complete thread.

For my main scratch built projects, in the past I typically posted an ongoing build log, and then when I completed the project, I posted a second thread with completed pictures--and so you will see these sub-headings.

ps. If there are incorrect links, please let me know
Okay, here are the links:

Navig! Hey man, it's been a while. If your eyes return, would you care to write up your water cooled framer for the front page of Overclockers.com?

Luv looking through mods like this. Amazing work you do and glad you're sharing it again. I do remember clicking on a link at the old Abit Forums and seeing something you've done before. I had no idea, though, that you had done all this. THANK YOU, navig.

I've been holding off on the official announcement till it was a done deal. Its now a done deal!

In May, my wife and I are moving to our new place--and our first place--and well, I think the pic speaks for itself:

Posted Image

That's right, the place includes a 1200 sq ft shop, studded, insulated, and ventilated. Wired at 2 spots for 220v and plumbed for air tools.

So things will be slow for the move period, but afterwards...get ready for some serious modding. I've come a long way since working in our rental apartment kitchen!

I have added a new link, about my history in modding and all my "workshops" that I have nestled out for myself over the years.

Link.

Navig

PS. So my shop is now officially closed until the end of May. But on the plus side, I will start spending time doing all my reposting work. I did decided to do this little fun side thread. More to come....

Another update. Added a thread on my construction of a DIY workbench (a furniture tool type workbench, not a PC benching station).
