Well, that's the beauty of the X58 chipset. All of them are both Crossfire and SLI compatible. How far are you trying to OC? What cooling are you going to use?

Definitely hold off until the D0 stepping becomes prevalent enough to give you a good chance of getting one. Either that or buy a guaranteed D0 at markup from tank guys.

No one has proven that D0 is any better than C0.
Everybody's mind is in a cloud about steppings because of the WOLFDALE scenario.

Well, to see what DFI has to offer, have a look at our reviews here. I've heard good things from people here about the Gigabyte extreme as well.

Chuck is kinda right about the D0. I think it was all in there head. They claim a D0 can run lower volts and OC higher, but maybe thats what gave people more courage to push higher. Im not to sure though. My chip likes volts so I cant really put my opinion in until I test a D0

But as for baords, the Gigabyte UD5 is amazing, you can go for the slightly cheaper UD4 and still get excellent performance.

i just hope the TURE 120 will be ok for the i7 , like i said i know i have to get the new 1366 braket for it

and i already have triple channel Ram ddr3 1600, so pretty much all i need is the HS braket ,cpu and motherbaord

so i think im looking at a price range $400- $500 for those parts i need

Does that sound about right?

I'm just basing that on what INTEL specified.
INTEL stated that the only change made to the chip was where they modded the IHS in order to make one of the serial numbers more visible.
They said that no changes were made internally.
I figured that if INTEL said it was exactly the same on the inside, then it must be the same on the inside.
They should know.
I would think.
So how could it perform any better or any worse???

No.
I didn't have a reason to bookmark it.
At the time, I didn't realize that I was the only one in the PC universe that read INTEL's spec sheets.
You all remind me of my niece and nephew.
Whenever thay get a new gadget, the first thing that they throw down is the instruction sheet.

and 6,999,999 of them are BS stories on how good D0 is better then C0. Did it ever occur to them that a ES and a better batch number could get you that extra 50mhz? hysterical.gif

They're the same.
I saw that spec sheet in a sticky at another forum just the other nite.
I'll find it and sticky it here, once I can remember where it was!

That's why they made school. So the elderly didn't have to correct young people's spelling. whistling.gif

Anyway...I never meant to imply D0's are guaranteed to run faster. In fact, I have no idea if that's the case. What I did see was testing at XS showing that they run cooler, which might as well mean faster since you can throw more volts and get the same temps, at least in theory.
