damn, my ISP has started layer 7 monitoring and traffic shaping any p2p traffic like bittorrent or limewire.

they are denying it of course but there are many of us whose speeds for downloading anything has dropped to less than 20k per sec. but internet speed tests are still correct.

when will they stop big - brothering us and let us and let us do what we want.

nope. it is in the terms and conditions. we have to accept any type of connection restrictions the ISP wants to impose on us, and any changes.

it gets worse. the new plans from the ISP's are coming out - "full speed" plans. yeah right.

7.5M down 128k Up!??!?!?!?

bogus!

also imposing a 2GB traffic cap, so after you hit that you are at 64k up and down.

if you want more cap, you have to pay big dollar for.

the Internet service in this country sucks big time. i hate it.

Cox doesn't have any restrictions on how much you download.
But they do block known p2p ports bad.gif

use ports that are sub 1000 and are "privellaged". i e use a TCP port that is reserved for a specific windows feature (that you will never use bad.gif ). it will be unrestricted.
