Hell.
If it doesn't work as it should, it won't be the first time.
The ol' "pioneer spirit".
I guess.

Well.
I'm going to try it sometime this weekend.
That ABIT guy over at HEXUS sounds pretty confident about them.
I did find one thread during some GOOGLAGE that indicated it was a modded BIOS 17.
Must have typed in an extree little file.
Guess I'll set it all up on the bench and................. away!

GOOD MORNING.
Successfully flashed BIOS before I went to bed.
UPDATE SUCCESS.
All systems GO this morning.
BIOS Version reads 00. idontknow.gif
Yep.
That's what it says.
Mystery BIOS.
I used the file that BUFF posted because the pointer date for that file indicated October and the pointer date for the GLOBAL site version indicated May. So they are not the same. Yet, anyway.
Everything is performing as it is supposed to so it's time to install the E8600 and see what happens.
I'm going to work.
Hopefully see you guys tonite.
Bye!

congrats.gif congrats.gif congrats.gif congrats.gif

GOOD AFTERNOON EVERYONE.
Well.
I can safely say that THE NEW IP35 PRO BIOS DOES NOT WORK WITH AN E8600.
I just booted it back up about 5 minutes ago after doing a hard CMOS clear all afternoon, and a morning's worth of troubleshooting.
Post code 8.7 from the get go.
Everything is attached just like it's 'sposed to be.
I actually plugged in another S610 just so no one would bother to ask me: "Have you tried another power supply?" hysterical.gif
Because we all know that would probably be one of the first things that I would ask someone, if not THEE first!

QUE SERA, SERA..................

It was worth a try though.
I would have had a lot of fun getting that CPU to 5 gigs with the IP35 PRO BIOS features and the on-the-fly UGURU technology.

Faulty CPU?
Unlikely.
I won't be able to verify that though until it's stuck on another board.

If that is the case, then maybe someone should post a warning on Buff`s post that those BIOS`s are not official?

Hate to see other people download it and then fubar their machines.

Part of it's my cooling.
I think INTEL got it right (this time) with Wolfdale.
That's the other part.
