If you are experiencing lock ups, BSOD or restarts there are some very basic things to check...
I may not have everything to check but I will touch on a few of them for you here, please add to what I have started so we can have a comprehensive checklist people can print out and try for themselves...

Checks and Tools needed
First... loosen your memory settings to stabilize your system a little better (adjust the top 4 settings 1 tick up)
(this will sometimes stabilize your system long enough to locate the problem
Set your Northbridge voltage to 1.5-1.55 volts

If your system doesn't boot with all your memory in... Try this.
Remove one stick, or all but one stick and run it at factory settings in the middle of the voltage range specified.
Run Memtest for at least 5 passes on each stick
If no problems arise increase voltage a tad and install another stick. If you have 4 sticks you will need to increase the voltage even more.

Download everest (google everest) (a program to monitor your temps and voltages)
Install Everest
Open Everest (or other monitoring program) and check your system voltages
Check
12v
5v
3.3v
Your numbers should be close to those or very slightly higher
on your 12v, you need at least 11.5volts, if it's down to 11.3 or lower you need a new PSU ripicon.jpg

Assuming you have 11.5v on your 12v circut, go to "File" then "preferences"...
Click "logging" then put a tick in the "Log sensor readings to HTML log file"
In the box just below, on the right click the small box and navigate to where you want the log files placed for you to access later.
Put a tick in the "Log started and stopped processes"
In the large box below, put a tick in each "Voltage Values" Monitoring boxs... Put a tick in the "Temp Values" too
Then click "Apply"

What will happen now is that, when you have Everest running , it will keep a log of your temps and voltages depending on what version of everest you have...
The reason for the logging is to see how much fluxuation in voltages you have. This causes the majority of the problem concerning all memory we have discovered.. Steady, reliable voltage is the single most important need for any memory to function at it's best. Trust us on this one. I would say that 90% of all memory problems are PSU related.... That's huge!!!

Now run an intensive program, bench or game and recheck your logs.
you can see the highs and lows of everything. The fluxuation between High and low should be less than .10 -.20 usually, Good PSU's flex less than .05) (12v will flex a little more with cheaper PSU's)

I have more to add, just dont have the time at the moment, but it's a start. clapping.gif

This will assist you when setting memory timings or would like to know what each one does.
It may come in handy for preliminary diagnostics.
